Terms
Short, because a page of clauses nobody reads protects nobody.
What this is
Agora is a place for book clubs to keep track of what they are reading, when they meet, and what they said about it. It is provided as it is, with no promise that it will be running tomorrow. Do not make it the only copy of anything you would be sorry to lose.
Your account
You get in by clicking a link emailed to your address, so that address is effectively your password — keep control of it. There is no fee. You can close your account at any time from your settings, and doing so releases the address for reuse.
Your club
If you open a club you are its organiser, which means you decide who is in it and whether anybody outside can find it. A club is private and invisible until you change that. You are responsible for what your club publishes on its profile.
What is not allowed
Do not use this to harass anybody, to post material you have no right to, or to scrape or overload the service. An operator can make a club private or remove an account without notice where that is happening. There is no appeal process, because there are not enough of us to run one honestly.
What we do not do
We do not sell anything, run advertising, or pass your address to anybody. See the privacy note, which is the more useful page of the two.
